Abstrak
Anxiety in female adolescents is a common psychiatric disease that can affect their reproductive health, including abnormal menstrual periods. Menstrual cycle issues that remain untreated may negatively impact physical and emotional health. The purpose of research was to determine the correlation between the level of anxiety and menstrual cycle issues in female adolescents of SMPN 2 Sigli in Pidie Regency. The type of research was analytic quantitative through a cross-sectional design. The population in the research was female adolescents of SMPN 2 Sigli. They were taking 76 respondents as samples by using the total sampling method. To obtain the data, the researcher used a questionnaire sheet about anxiety and menstrual cycle issues. To analyze the data, the researcher used univariate and bivariate tests through chi-square of a 0.05 significance level. The result indicated that 33 respondents (43.4%) had a severe level of anxiety and 30 respondents (39.5%) had oligomenorrhea during their menstrual cycle. In brief, there was a significant correlation between the level of anxiety and menstrual cycle issues in female adolescents of SMPN 2 Sigli in Pidie Regency, obtaining a P-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Therefore, the researcher expected that the results of this research should be intended for promotional and preventive strategies focused on improving female adolescents' mental and reproductive health.
